LINCOLN COMMUNITY SCHOOL is a private, not-for-profit, college-preparatory, American international school. We serve an expatriate population associated with the various embassies, Foreign Service agencies, N.G.O’s, United Nations organizations, and international businesses. We also serve a large number of students whose parents are Ghanaian nationals. 20% of our students are Americans, 13% are Ghanaians, and 67% are from other countries. English is the language of instruction. Classes are offered from Preschool through to grade 12. The school year is divided into 2 semesters (Aug. -Dec. & Jan. – June) and additionally into quarter marking periods.
Lincoln Community School is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization as an I.B. World School, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of both the Council of International Schools and the Association of International Schools in Africa.
Since its establishment in 1968, LCS has experienced continuous growth. The physical plant has grown to 55 classrooms, in addition to 3 art rooms, 3 science labs, 3 technology labs, 2 music rooms, a Visual and Performing Arts Center, Elementary and Secondary Libraries, an Early Childhood Center, a World Language Center and office space for guidance and administration. The library has 37,000 volumes plus multi-media equipment including Internet accessibility via a radio link. Sports facilities include a multi-purpose hall, 2 sports fields, playgrounds, a multipurpose court, a climbing wall and a semi-Olympic swimming pool. We offer:
