Health and Dental Care in Accra
There are numerous private and public health clinics in Accra, and its suburbs.  The majority of these are located close to the school and to faculty housing.  Many of these have 24 hour emergency care.  The quality of care can vary between clinics and hospitals, and the most reputable clinics and hospitals generally offer good quality care.   It must be noted that the level of care is not what it is in the western world in locations like Europe or the United States.  Most all types of medicine (pediatric, orthopedic, general practitioners etc.) are also available.  Accra has the best facilities in the country, and the availability and quality of clinics diminishes as you get further from the capital city.

Good care is provided for routine illnesses, check ups, and for treatment of local maladies.  A new European paramedic service recently became available in Ghana and offers high quality emergency and paramedic care.  This organization has a modern ambulance, air evacuation services, and interfaces with local doctors, hospitals, and clinics to get their patients to the most appropriate care facility.

Dental care is very good, and readily available in Accra.  This service can be expensive depending on the quality of care and type of dental work being sought.

The school covers your monthly premiums for good-quality medical, dental and vision insurance. TieCare is the insurance provider for the faculty.
