Ghana Model United Nations (GHAMUN)
A warm welcome to all teachers, parents, students, and visitors.
This February, Lincoln Community School in Accra is hosting one of the most anticipated events on the school calendar, Ghana Model United Nations. We are delighted to announce that our IX annual conference will be held from Thursday, February 7th to Saturday, February 9th, 2013.
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. GHAMUN hosts the largest conference of its kind in West Africa. In the past LCS has welcomed delegates from across Europe, the Middle East and of course, Africa.
GHAMUN has set the standard for MUN conferences in the West African region, reflected by a high attendance and a wide spread of foreign representation over the course of the last 8 years. As part of the GHAMUN experience, we are also providing international students with a 2 day excursion opportunity prior to the conference. This will allow travelling guests to gain some knowledge on Ghanaian culture as well as lend a hand in rural villages through the service organizations, designed to allow students to help communities in need to build simple, affordable housing.
This year’s IX annual Ghana Model United Nations has all the promising variables which will provide our conference with the success it has previously demonstrated.
