After School Activities

The start of season one After School Activities (ASA’s) has presented many opportunities for in-person social connections and promotes fun, community, and an appreciation for an active healthy lifestyle.

Through the various activities being offered (swimming, soccer, volleyball, dance, yoga, chess, Rubik's cube, drawing and music) students are picking up on their interests, skills, fitness and physical activity levels. The plan is to extend these benefits with all three school divisions (ES/MS/HS) in upcoming seasons.

Student Quotes:

STUDENT 1

  • What has been a highlight for you since you started playing soccer after a long break away?
It was good to finally exercise again. I hadn't done much movement during summer break, or during the beginning of quarantine, so it was nice being able to move around. I also like playing soccer, and I haven't been able to practice my skills until now..

STUDENT 2

  • What has been a highlight for you since you started playing soccer after a long break away?
My highlight of playing football after being away for almost 1 year is the team work and the collaboration with everyone. It wasn't like I couldn't play football while we were online but playing in an actual team is so much more fun. I also just enjoy getting back into the old routine cause it gives the feeling that things are finally getting back to how they used to be.
  • Name one word that you can use to express how you feel being able to participate in after school activities?
One word I would use to express how I feel when I participate in after school activities is exhilarating.
