AKWAABA! Welcome to LCS for our 2023-24 school year! To those families returning to LCS, I hope you have all had a wonderful break, enjoying time together. To those who are new to LCS, a special welcome from myself to Lincoln Community School. I just know that you are going to love being part of the LCS family.

I am just so excited to welcome all of our students to the campus on Monday 14 August at 8.00 a.m. for the beginning of our school year. We will also be welcoming 118 new students and their families to an orientation morning this Friday 11 August from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Lincoln Community School Welcome Message for the 2023-24 School Year

Last week, we welcomed our new teaching and leadership staff and this week all of our returning staff are at school preparing for the year ahead. I often say that the strength of a school comes from the people who work within it and I am very proud of the team that we have here at Lincoln Community School. They are diverse, coming from over twenty different countries and backgrounds. They are all here because they want to do their very best for your children.

During this past vacation break, a lot of work has been happening on the campus. We have 4 main facilities projects that are nearing completion:

  1. The outfitting of the basement of the Akyedee building to house our security, maintenance and procurement staff. This will free up other space around the campus.

  2. The refitting of the East Campus Annex building that we purchased last year to house the MS and HS Libraries and also the Finance department.

  3. A brand new makerspace, opposite the Akyedee building. The makerspace will be available to all students and will be aligned with the school’s design department. A makerspace is a multi-purpose space for students to create, design, make and construct. It is going to be a super exciting and innovative place to be!

  4. A new counseling center. This is a new space for our three Secondary School counselors and their assistant on the East Campus.

Although they are not yet ready for occupancy, our new buildings are not far away from completion. Please be reassured that all steps have been taken to ensure the safety of our students, staff and parents while construction is underway on the campus.

As always, please feel free to reach out to either myself on ltait@lincoln.edu.gh or any member of the school’s Advancement team on communication@lincoln.edu.gh if you have any questions or concerns about the opening of school.

I am so looking forward to welcoming you all here.

Kind Regards
Lesley Tait
Head of School
