For any recruitment process, LCS collects and processes personal data relating to job applicants. LCS is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses applicants personal data submitted to the school  and to meeting the requirements of Ghanaian Data Protection Act ,2012 ( 843) and the European General Data Protection Regulation(673), 2016 . What information we collect on you. This includes:

∙ Your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone number;

  • Details of your qualifications, skills, experience and employment history;

∙ Information about your current level of remuneration, including benefit entitlements;

∙ Whether or not you have a disability for which the organization needs to make reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process; and

Methods of collecting data

LCS may collect this personal information through application forms, resumes, CV’s, passports, certificates, identity documents or collected through interviews or other forms of assessment. Once an applicant receives a job offer from LCS, LCS will inform the applicant further on how we will use their personal data shared with us.  

Where we store data:

Data will be stored in a range of different places, including on your application record, in HR management systems and on other IT systems (including email).

Why does LCS need to process your personal data shared with us?

We process your personal data in order to carry out our obligations and exercise specific rights in relation to employment such as reference checks, criminal background checks, medical assessment and qualification verification.

Data from job applicants allows us to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job. .

If your application is unsuccessful, LCS may keep your personal data on file in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited.

Who has access to data? Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise.

We will not share your data with third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks.

We take the security of your data seriously.

We have internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties.

For how long does LCS keep data for?

If your application for employment is unsuccessful, LCS will continue to hold your data on record for a period of 12 months . Alternatively you can ask in writing for your data to be removed/deleted from LCS records. If you application is successful, LCS will contact you on how we will use your data further.
