HS Play " Totally Over you" Showcases
Originality and Courage
50 students, faculty, and artists collaborated over 9 weeks to bring the comedic yet cutting fully produced performance of Mark Ravenhill's "Totally Over You" to the stage. Featuring 4 original songs created by the cast and guided by faculty and local musician, Seyram GH, the devising of new characters, new scenes, and working with the script to contextualize if for our unique LCS community here in Accra, every artist shone. Students showed leadership onstage, backstage, as musicians, lyricists, choreographers, playwrights, costumers, set painters, sound and lighting engineers, and as make-up artists.
Welcoming many first-time actors to our LCS stage and honoring our seniors in their last major production, the dynamic cast and crew embraced the challenges that come with creating original work while honoring a published script. We are incredibly proud of all everyone's efforts and we are already thinking of what fantastic show to bring to the community next year.
As it was my own debut here at Lincoln, having come most recently from the International School of Uganda, I was honored to work with such great artists. Many thanks to our administration for supporting the arts at Lincoln and many thanks to the families of our young artists!
Please stay tuned for the Lincoln Shorts in February and the Middle School musical - more details will be announced in the second semester.
