ALUMNUS ROY KHOURY
LCS has been very fortunate this year to have alumni each month returning to visit the school. These visits have brought alumni reconnecting from as far back as the 1990's. Roy Khoury, Class of '07, was the latest to return.
We asked him to share with us what he most remembered from LCS; "LCS valued independent learning, and was the first school during my academic career to do so. It paved the way for my commitment to life-long learning. If I have to choose one word (for LCS) it would be diversity.
The staff was diverse, as was the student body. I met nationalities for the first time at LCS and got exposed to cultures considerably different from mine. A wonderfully eye-opening experience that was!" Roy is currently an English and Social Studies teacher on his way to Dubai to teach at a school. When asked what he is most passionate about, Roy replied, "Knowledge. A teacher of mine once said:
'There are two kinds of insatiable people. Those who love money, and those who crave knowledge.' I happen to be an insatiable person in the latter category, for knowledge is the only resource that does not dwindle when shared. If nothing else, I would like to inspire my students to have a similar outlook on this matter."
