This year's GHAMUN has four visiting schools: Ghana International School, Association International School, Al Rayan International School and DPS in Tema. The conference is going to be on the 1st until the 3rd of February. Our distinguised keynote speaker at the opening ceremonies is Ambassador to the United States, Robert P Jackson and for our closing ceremony, it will be the honorable Major Croshier, a distinguished individual with experience as a UN peacekeeper and as an officer in the US Airforce.
There are about 110 delegates in the conference and around 40 of them are LCS delegates. There will be a social barbeque on Friday night for all the delegates to attend, with food from Burger and Relish as well as Pinkberry. The conference will have 5 forums, General Assembly, Environmental Commission, Disarmament Commission, Human Rights Council, and Security Council. An interesting topic that is being debated is the methods to combat the slave trade going on in Libya and we particularly look forward to seeing solutions coming out of this debate because of it's relevance in today's current events.
We encourage the staff to come into the forums and sit in one of the chairs lined on the walls to watch if they wish. We only request that they respect the debate and try their best to enter and leave quietly. We have attached a video and an image this email depicting the hard work and dedication that planning committee has put into preparing this conference.
