Personal Project Exhibition

On Tuesday, February 20th, Lincoln Community School celebrated our 10th grade scholars as they presented their Middle Years Program (MYP) Personal Projects, the culminating learning experience of the MYP, under the direction of LCS Personal Project Coordinator Mr. Michael Bishop-Obbin. The MYP Personal Project has three parts: a 1500-3500 word report, a product, and a process journal.

2016-17 First Admin Coffee

By 8:15am on the 27th of September 2016, coffee and tea was ready for this year's first Admin Coffee in the NPAT. The topics to be discussed at the meeting were the Head of School Search and review of the 2016 IB Results. This monthly meeting was opened with the Interim Head of School, Joe Stucker, giving his welcome.

On February 11 – 13 Lincoln hosted the 11th Annual, 2016 GHAMUN Conference which saw students participate from Ghana International School (GIS), American International School (AIS), International Community School of Abidjan, American International School of Lome and Delhi Public School (DPS).

Administrative Team Coffee for Parents

Parents were invited for the third coffee for the 2015-16 school year on October 27 at Nkomode.The focus for the month was on "Communicating with Parents about Your Child's Learning." Head of School Dr. Dennis Larkin commented that the goal of this coffee conversation was to help parents understand the types of assessments used by LCS and to explain how assessments are reflected on student report cards.

Celebrating successes and milestones: LCS Graduation week

The last week of school is always a happy, albeit emotional time for parents, students and teachers at LCS as they celebrate successes and mark new beginnings in ceremonies across campus throughout the week. Amidst hundreds of family and friends, LCS High School graduates, KG, Grade 5 and 8 students faced the crowds of proud parents, teachers, and fellow students and celebrated their successes together.

International mathematicians to lead MISE summer math camp at LCS

Around 40 exceptional 14 to 17 year old Ghanaian students will attend the MIT-sponsored MISE Summer Program 2015 held on LCS campus since 2011 Every summer since 2011, MISE has brought together talented maths students from a diverse range of countries, cultures and backgrounds to study and learn together on the beautiful campus of Lincoln Community School. The MISE Program is designed to stimulate interest in mathematical sciences research among talented high school students carefully selected from across Ghana.

LCS hosted the annual Model United Nations Conference, GHAMUN last week. The 3 day conference was a time of diplomacy, unity, and excitement. Dressed in smart sky blue graduation gowns with matching caps and a specially woven kente scarf incorporating the school emblem, 52 graduates of the Lincoln Community School Class of 2014 received their diplomas last Friday evening, May 30 at the Accra's National Theatre.
