Book Donation and Reading Initiative at Multikids Inclusive Academy

In a heartwarming display of community spirit and educational advocacy, the Ghana Must Read LCS Club recently organized a meaningful visit to Multikids Inclusive Academy in East Legon, Accra. This initiative saw 28 enthusiastic students from LCS come together to donate books and engage in reading sessions with the children of Multikids, fostering a love for reading and promoting inclusivity.
This initiative was also to support students service as action experiences where we went through the five stages of service as action: investigation, preparation, action, reflection and demonstration.
A Shared Commitment to Literacy and Inclusion
Multikids Inclusive Academy, is dedicated to providing specialized education to children with diverse learning needs and Ghana Must Read LCS saw this collaboration as an opportunity to make a tangible impact. Over the month of March, we organized a book drive where members within our LCS community donated books to this cause. In preparation towards the donation we carefully selected and donated a variety of books, ensuring that the materials were both age-appropriate and inclusive.
An Afternoon of Shared Stories and Smiles
On the day of the visit, the LCS students arrived at Multikids with their donated books, ready to share stories and engage with the children. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the young learners from both institutions sat together, turning pages and immersing themselves in tales that sparked imagination and learning.
The reading sessions were not just about storytelling; they were about building connections, understanding diverse perspectives, and celebrating the joy of reading.
The children of Multikids showcased their resilience and enthusiasm, reminding everyone present of the power of inclusive education and the importance of community support.
Students of LCS are eager to visit with our friends at Multikids again and we are looking forward to organizing this once again.
