About LCS

A welcome from Lesley Tait 

“Akwaaba” is a word in the Twi language that means “Welcome” – and at Lincoln Community School, Akwaaba is not just a greeting, but a promise that this will be a place where you are truly at home. 

My name is Lesley Tait, and it is my honour to serve as Head of School at LCS. I have had the privilege of leading this community since 2021, and I can tell you honestly: five years in, I am still inspired by this place every single day.

At Lincoln, we believe that learning should be joyful, challenging, and innovative – and that every child deserves to feel that they truly belong.

These are not just aspirations we print on a page. They are the convictions that shape how we design learning experiences, how we welcome families, and how we show up for one another. Our vision reflects who we genuinely are and who we are continuing to become.

The true heart of LCS is not any single program or accolade. It is the community itself.

From the moment you arrive on our campus in Accra, you will feel it – in the energy all around you, the curiosity of our students, the dedication of our faculty, and the warmth of our parent community.

We are a school of approximately 530 students, from Early Childhood through Grade 12, drawn from all over the world and rooted right here in Ghana. That blend of global perspective and deep local connection is something we treasure.

Blending History with Innovation

Lincoln Community School was founded in 1968. With over 55 years of history, we are incredibly proud of our journey.

The longevity of this institution speaks to something real: generations of families have trusted us with what matters most to them. While continuing to grow, we draw on that legacy – blending tradition with innovation, and always asking how we can do better for the young people in our care.
