“Receiving this award reminds me that school nursing is not just about taking care of students who are ill. It’s about promoting health, preventing illness, advocating for children, and ensuring that students stay healthy and ready to learn.

A major highlight of this award was attending the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) conference in Las Vegas. There, I met school nurses from across the United States and around the world. I gained new ideas that will help me strengthen my work as a school nurse at Lincoln Community School and make a positive impact in my home country, Ghana.

I am grateful to work at a school that values student health and helps school nursing thrive.

This award honors me, but it also reflects our strong community at LCS – where we support each other so that our students can excel.”
