The only Ghanaian school in Africa’s top 20

Schools from Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania, Morocco, Rwanda, and Uganda all appear in the guide’s top 20. Specifically, LCS is the one representing Ghana, and the highest-ranked school in the country in this guide.

The guide assessed academic results, university progression, faculty quality, facilities, student wellbeing, and extracurricular opportunities. Crucially, behind every one of those areas is someone in our community. Therefore, we want to say a massive thank you to:

• Our students, whose curiosity, effort, and character inspire us every day.
• Our teachers and staff, who encourage, challenge, and believe in every child.
• Our parents and guardians, whose trust and partnership make our work possible.
• Our alumni and supporters, who carry our values into the world.

Ultimately, this achievement is yours as much as ours.

Why families choose Lincoln Community School as the best school in Ghana

We were founded in 1968, when six American families came together to build a school for their children. Today, we are a vibrant, inclusive learning community rooted in Africa. Indeed, learning here is co-designed to be joyful, challenging, and innovative, and every learner is inspired to belong and make a meaningful impact.

Above all, this recognition affirms what we value most:

• A world-class IB education. We are an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes through the lens of U.S. curricular standards.
• Innovation and future-ready learning. Robotics, the maker space, design labs, and smart tech used responsibly in classrooms help students build skills for a fast-changing world.
• A truly global community. Our students, families, and educators represent more than 60 nationalities and speak over 70 languages.
• Community and service. Our award winning Community Engagement (Service) learning is built into our curriculum, and our after-school programs keep “community” at the heart of Lincoln.

What’s next for Lincoln Community School

Achieving this ranking is a milestone, not a finish line. Therefore, we will keep raising the bar, investing in our teachers and facilities, and putting students at the centre of every decision. We are a school that is mission driven; consequently, every decision is taken with students’ best interests in mind. Furthermore, we firmly believe: “When we learn, we grow. When we lead, we empower. When we connect, we thrive.”
