At LCS I was…
A student in the Class of 2020, where I grew up learning alongside people from different cultures and backgrounds and was encouraged to embrace new perspectives.
My Favourite LCS Memory
One memory that always makes me smile is creating a time capsule with my classmates in middle school. We each wrote letters to our future selves, sharing our hopes, dreams, and predictions about where life might take us before sealing them away. It was such a simple activity, but it brought our class together. I still look forward to the day when I can revisit those memories and see just how much has changed.
What LCS Taught Me
LCS taught me how to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds and, importantly, how to embrace new perspectives. Those lessons have become invaluable in my career, where I work with diverse teams and communicate with people from all walks of life.
Advice for Students
It’s okay not to have everything figured out. When I was in high school, I confidently told my classmates that I wanted to become a lawyer. As I gained more experience after graduating, I discovered that my true passion was actually political communications.
My career has since taken me through internships with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, a role on Vice President Harris’ official team as a Press Assistant, and strategic communications work with politicians, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic institutions.
I’ve learned that uncertainty isn’t something to fear. Some of the best opportunities in life are the ones you never planned for. Focus on doing your best today, stay open to new experiences, and trust that each step is preparing you for the next one.
