Vision Screening at LCS

In supporting student learning at LCS, the school nurses in collaboration with
Van J Eye Care Ltd. organized a free vision screening for Middle School on
February 13 and 14, 2019. Childhood vision disorders are a common
significant public health problem and early identification, diagnosis and
correction of children's vision disorders are essential parts of school health
programs; thus giving children a better opportunity to develop educationally,
socially and emotionally.

In total 80 students from grades 7 and 8 were screened by the team from Van
J Eye Care. Students found with concerns about their vision were duly referred
by the doctor for further examination with their preferred service providers.

The nurses are grateful to the team of doctors from Van J, Ms. Megan (Middle
School Principal) and Ms. Anna (Principal's Assistant) for their support in
coordinating the screening.
