Facility Developments - Secondary School library & Multi-purpose Hall 430

Work continues on the LCS facilities unabated.  In the last link we reported on the opening of our Makerspace and this time we are happy to talk about two new completed developments.  Firstly is the Secondary School library which is now in full operation in the new building which has been named [Nile, a Ga word meaning knowledge]. Full credit goes to our librarians who have had the unenviable task of merging the Middle School and High School libraries into one.  The work is now complete with new furniture and shelving in place and the library already in full use by secondary school students.

The second completed project is the addition of soundproofing to one of the large spaces in the Akyԑdeԑ building, room 430.  This turns a large but echoing room into a proper multi-purpose space that can be used for a variety of purposes.  Large school meetings have already been held there and is currently being used as the GHAMUN general assembly room. The room’s new sound proofing will get a proper test when the Secondary School bands perform there later this year.  Guests will be able to enjoy the performances in an air-conditioned space that also boasts great acoustics.
