Swimvitational March 2019

This years Swimvitational was a huge success all around. We got new people
on the record board and new swimmers in the pool. Almost every single
swimmer from Lincoln improved their personal best times, and many people
also took medals home because of their efforts. Everyone swam to the absolute
best of their abilities and had such a good time.

The meet could not have been as successful as it ended up being without the
help of all the parent, student, and teacher volunteers. Their help with timing,
starting, and organizing the call-room really was invaluable.

The Swimvitational was one of the biggest meets ever with teams from all
around Accra participating, including the GH Dolphins, Legon Sharks, Ghana
Bluefins, Ghana International School, Marlins, and of course Lincoln Community
School, with swimmers young as 5 years old up to 46 years old. The ambiance
and energy set by each team were so powerful and full of good sportsmanship.
Each team showed their commitment to the sport but also to their teams by
cheering on their teammates and even friends from other teams. The energy
couldn't have been this great without the help of great music, kudos to Mr.
Duffield.
The day ran smoothly with great weather and great organization by the LCS
coaches, Coach Laila, Coach Jonathan, Coach Challes and Coach Alex as well
as the wonderful parents led by Maria Oram. Each of the other teams were led
and by organized captains and coaches which helped make it easier for everyone.
The weather was fantastic with no clouds in the sky and it only managed to get
a few kids with a sunburn. We would like to thank everyone who participated,
all the volunteers and our amazing coaches for such an amazing, fun and
successful meet.

We would also like to thank everyone who came and watched for supporting us.
